Ukoliko ste razmišljali o tome da anaboličkim steroidima povećate mišićnu masu, postoji nekoliko stvari koje jednostavno morate da znate.

Kako piše sajt WebMD, anabolički steroidi se upotrebljavaju za izgradnju mišića, a kortikosteroidi deluju na imunološki sistem i poboljšavaju imuni odgovor organizma. Anabolički steoridi koje upotrebljavaju bodibilderi su sintetička verzija testosterona. Međutim, iako ljudsko telo prirodno luči ovaj hormon, ukoliko ga u telu ima previše – baš kao u slučaju povišenog nivoa bilo kog hormona u telu koji regulišše većinu osnovnih funkcija organizma – negativne posledice mogu biti brojne.

KADA SE STEROIDI PROPISUJU?
Lekari propisuju svojim pacijentima anaboličke steroide kada leče specifična stanja. Na primer, oni se upotrebljavaju prilikom gubljenja mišićne mase od kog pate pacijenti oboleli od AIDS-a, u slučajevima kašnjenja puberteta ili kod poremećaja rada testisa.
POSLEDICE
Kako navodi WebMD, muškarci koji upotebljavaju steoride mogu imati bolne erekcije, neretko im se smanjuju testisi, opada broj spermatozoida i pate od steriliteta. Pored toga, moguća posledica je i impotencija, a događa se i ginekomastija – rast grudi kod pripadnika jačeg pola.
Žene koje koriste anaboličke steroide suočavaju se s pojačanom maljavošću, dubljjim glasom, neretodvnim menstrualnim ciklusima, uvećanim klitorisom, smanjenjem grudi itd.
Kod pripadnika oba pola mogu se pojaviti akne, masna koža i kosa, žućkasta koža, ćelavljenje, pucanje tetiva, srčani udari, dilatacija srca... Posledice upotrebe anaboličkih steroida su i povišen rizik za nastanak raka jetre i drugih oboljenja ovog organa, povišen „loš“ holesterol, nagle promene raspoloženja...
TINEJDžERI
Mladi koji čeznu da povećaju mišićnu masu moraju biti posebno oprezni jer, pored svih ovih nabrojanih posledica, mogu ostati nižeg rasta jer se prekida rast kostiju.
RAZMISLITE
Kako je, uz sve ove negativne efekte, moguće da ima onih koji godinama upotrebljavaju anaboličke steoride i nemaju baš nijedan od ovih problema?
„Mnogo je štetnih posledica upotrebe steroida“, naglaša dr Motner za WebMD. „Nisu svi dobri za vas. To je kao ruski rulet. Petoro ljudi može da ih koristi i nema nijedan dugoročan problem. Šesti može da premine.“
